What is the position? Program Facilitator

CFCN’s Dad HERO (Helping Everyone Realize Opportunities) project is designed to assist dads in realizing they can be a valuable parent and to support their relationships, resiliency, and their mental health while in prison, and upon reintegration. We are looking for a full-time Dad HERO Facilitator in the Kingston ON area to play a key role in this project.

What you will do?

- Facilitate CFCN’s Dad HERO programming in federal institutions, provincial jails, and in the community as needed
- Advertise and recruit participants (those currently or formerly incarcerated)
- Complete all required project reporting and statistics
- Other responsibilities in keeping with CFCN’s projects
- Undergo and maintain security clearance that will allow access to federal/provincial correctional facilities
- Model respect for the participants and their diversity
- Ensure confidentiality and respect all project materials
- Network with correctional staff and communities to build qualified working relationships
- Represent CFCN in an ethical and professional manner

Who are you? We need an energetic, compassionate person who can fulfill the components of program facilitation and is eligible to work in Canada. The position is for regular work hours, but there is possible evening and weekend work.





Do you

- Have experience in course and group facilitation and activities (2 years preferred)
- Have experience working with children and families (2 years preferred)
- Have experience working in a correctional setting (1 year preferred)
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma in a human service, corrections, or related field granted by an accredited college or university
- Have strong personal boundaries and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Have the ability to work remotely and autonomously from your supervisor
- Demonstrate knowledge of the criminal justice system, prison family dynamics, and relationships
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and oral (French is an asset for this position)
- Have the ability to achieve clearance to enter a federal prison (existing federal security clearance is an asset)
- Maintain reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,000.00-$43,875.00 per year
