Our company is highly specialized and has been providing services to the leaders in the private and public sectors involved in the land development industry for more than 30 years.

The preferred candidate will have recently graduated from an Urban Planning, Planning and Development, Geography, Urban Studies, or related university program and have a solid interest in land use planning, development approvals, and the land development industry.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Director, Project Manager(s), Planning and Engineering staff, clients, municipal staff, and multidisciplinary consulting teams to assist with the advancement of development projects through the planning, municipal approval, and implementation processes.

The role will involve supporting a variety of planning and development-related assignments, including development applications, land use and policy review, municipal approvals, planning research, due diligence, coordination of consultant teams, preparation of project submissions, and ongoing communication with clients and approval agencies.

As project requirements vary, the candidate's involvement may extend beyond the tasks identified below. In addition to planning and development approval coordination, the successful candidate may assist with broader project management, consultant coordination, municipal liaison, development due diligence, public consultation, financial tracking, reporting,



and general administrative functions related to land development projects.

Duties

- Provide assistance and support to the President, Vice President and Project Manager(s);
- Attendance at Local and Regional committee and council meetings (some of which may be outside of normal office hours) as required;
- Attendance at various project meetings with Municipal and Regional staff as required;
- Attendance at landowner group, client and consulting meetings as required;
- Attendance at site visits, construction meetings, etc;
- Carry out other actions, in accordance with the project work plan and scope of work;
- Preparation of project documentation including agendas, minutes, action list, work plans etc. as required;
- Assist in the processing of clients' lands through the development process (Official Plan, Secondary Plan, Block Plan, Draft Plan, Zoning Bylaw, Site Plan, etc);
- Assist in the preparation of development timelines and schedules for the delivery of the project
- Assist in the management of the design, approval and construction process, as required;
- Become knowledgeable in Cost Sharing Agreement, Funding Agreements, and other development related agreements, as required.
- Provide assistance in the preparation of financial analysis, reports, & reporting for project related matters, as required. Working with the CFO in this regard;
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills relating to planning, development and construction related projects
- Administration work (filing, organizing, cataloging, accounts, etc)



as required.

Skills
- Recently graduated from a recognized university program in Urban Planning, Planning and Development, Geography, Urban Studies, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline
- Eligibility for candidate membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and/or the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI), with an interest in pursuing the Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation, is considered an asset
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving project priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exposure to, or an interest in, municipal planning processes, development applications, planning policy, land development, or development approvals is considered an asset
- Familiarity with planning legislation, municipal Official Plans, zoning by-laws, secondary plans, or other planning and development documents is considered an asset
- Exposure to, or an interest in, financial administration, project budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting is considered an asset
- Valid G driver's licence and access to a vehicle are required

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
