Role Description The Project Manager, P&C; (Utilities) is a full-time, on-site role based in Burnaby, BC, responsible for managing protection and control projects for utility clients from inception through completion. This role coordinates project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, and within budget.

The Project

Manager oversees project documentation, risk management, and quality assurance, while maintaining clear communication with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors.



Daily activities include leading project meetings, tracking progress against milestones, resolving issues, and aligning project deliverables with technical standards and client requirements. The role also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements, supporting proposal development, and collaborating with engineering and field services to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

- Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and coordination of cross-functional teams.
- Experience with utility protection and control projects, including familiarity with relay systems, substation equipment, and power distribution environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead meetings, provide clear status updates, and build client relationships.
- Proficiency in standard project management tools and software; experience with documentation, reporting, and use of MS Office or similar applications.
- Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards and utility regulations.
- Ability to work on-site in an industrial setting, prioritize multiple projects, and adapt to evolving client and operational needs.
- Relevant post-secondary education in engineering, project management, or a related field; PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
- Previous experience in utilities, power systems, or industrial electrical services is preferred; knowledge of Canadian utility standards and practices
