W3 North America is working with contractors, technology companies, and project delivery businesses across Canada who are seeking Project Managers to lead water and wastewater treatment and capital works projects. This is an opportunity to join a market experiencing sustained infrastructure investment, tightening regulation, and a shortage of experienced project delivery talent.
We are interested in project managers from a range of backgrounds including construction management, EPC delivery, technology and equipment supply and design and build.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects from award through to commissioning and handover.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, risk, and quality across the full project lifecycle.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and internal engineering and commercial functions.
- Oversee procurement, equipment delivery, installation sequencing, and site works.
- Manage contract administration including variations, claims, progress claims, and change control.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, utilities, and municipal stakeholders.
- Drive site safety performance and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Support tendering, estimating, and project handover to operations where required.
- Deliver projects across areas such as PFAS treatment,
industrial water, reuse, membranes, filtration, disinfection, sludge and biosolids, and advanced treatment systems.
About You
- Background in project management within construction, EPC, water treatment technology, or capital works delivery.
- Experience delivering treatment plant, process plant, or water infrastructure projects, ideally in the range of several million dollars and above.
- Solid understanding of construction methodology, mechanical and process installation, and commissioning sequences.
- Commercial capability across contracts, budgets, forecasting, and change management.
- Able to interpret drawings, P&IDs;, specifications, and equipment or system interfaces.
- Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders on site and holding subcontractors to program.
- Strong communication skills and credibility with technical, commercial, and client facing audiences.
- Engineering degree, trade background, or PMP certification all considered depending on the role.
- P.Eng. eligibility is advantageous for some positions, but not essential for every role.
- Best suited to project managers who want to build long-term careers in the water sector rather than generalist construction roles.
Location Canada-wide. Opportunities may be available in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec, with flexibility depending on the company, project pipeline, and level of role. Site based, hybrid, and travel based positions may all be available.
