Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a passion for early childhood education.
Bilingual abilities, especially in French, are considered a valuable asset. The teacher will work closely with children, parents, and colleagues to support each child's individual needs and ensure a positive educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and individual student needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom workplace that promotes learning and development
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and team members
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing necessary accommodations
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and other relevant documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities, share best practices, and improve classroom strategies
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping,
lesson planning, and communicating with families
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while demonstrating strong organizational skills and time management
- Exhibit leadership qualities by guiding assistant staff or interns when applicable
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development theories
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills—verbal and written—are essential for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in classroom management or team collaboration
- Proficiency in computer operation for documentation and communication purposes
- Certification in early childhood education or related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant coursework or ongoing professional development is advantageous
Pay: $25.86-$27.00 per hour
