The Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF; https://tirf.ca/) is seeking a Research Assistant to strengthen its team. The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of data entry and coding, survey design, and analysis. The candidate must demonstrate well-developed writing skills and experience writing technical reports as well as public-facing content such as fact sheets.

Experience with literature searches and familiarity with various road safety topics is an asset. Knowledge of French is a plus.

In this role, duties and responsibilities are comprised of assigned tasks associated with project-based research and educational resources. Communication with project funders, government agencies and stakeholders is a function of this role, as well as delivering presentations, and providing support for marketing and communications activities. Periodic travel may be required to provincial government offices and community partner locations.

Assigned responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following duties:

1. Collect data,



both online and in the field, and enter data, to maintain TIRF’s National Fatality Database.
2. Collaborate with team members to analyze data and produce publications related to these data, such as technical reports, fact sheets, blog posts, Infographics and social media content.
3. Contribute to proposal writing to secure recent project funding.
4. Network with representatives from provincial government agencies that may require data and insights from, or provide data to, TIRF.
5. Conduct in-person, online or phone interviews with project participants.
6. Provide assistance and support for TIRF research projects.
7. Provide assistance and support to TIRF team members responding to media inquiries and information requests.
8. Represent TIRF at conferences or seminars.
