Key Responsibilities
Guest Room Cleaning & Presentation
- Clean and service guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel and brand standards.
- Change bed linens and make beds neatly and efficiently.
- Vacuum carpets and floors throughout guest rooms and assigned areas.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, lamps, televisions, mirrors, picture frames, and other room surfaces.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, mirrors, and floors.
- Remove fingerprints, smudges, and marks from glass, mirrors, windows, and other surfaces.
- Ensure all guest room amenities and supplies are properly replenished and presented according to standards.
- Ensure rooms are fully secured and all lights, televisions, and air conditioning units are turned off when service is complete.
Safety, Security & Maintenance
- Report maintenance deficiencies, damages, safety hazards, and suspicious activity promptly to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Report all missing items, damaged items, and personal belongings left behind in guest rooms immediately.
- Follow all lost and found procedures and ensure items are turned in promptly.
- Handle and use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to established procedures.
- Maintain responsibility for assigned pass keys and ensure they are returned daily.
- Follow all Occupational Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
Operational Support
- Maintain housekeeping carts, storage areas, and workspaces in a clean and organized manner.
- Assist with additional cleaning duties and special projects as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or management team.
- Coordinate the removal and storage of rollaway beds, cribs, and other guest-requested items.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations and exceptional guest satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience considered an asset.
- Robust attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment handling is an asset.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads.
- Frequent repetitive movements including bending, reaching, and kneeling.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays as required.
- Availability: Weekends and Holidays
Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the Executive Housekeeper. The Room Attendant works under general supervision while prioritizing and completing assigned duties independently and efficiently.
