POSITION: Sales Associate / IHL - Innisfil

This position is being recruited to fill an existing vacancy.

ROLE The Sales Associate provides superior customer service to our clients in the building materials and construction industries. The sales associate supports our customers in-store, by answering customer inquiries, providing detailed product information, and directing clients to merchandise within the store.

The Sales Associate also drives in-store sales efforts, by introducing customers to promotions, sales, and flyer events. The Sales Associate adds value to the customer experience by suggesting add-on products that benefit the customer and encourage loyalty.

The Sales Associate supports the organization from an operational level, by updating stock, maintaining in-store displays and ensuring the department is clean, and presentable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

- Follow the standard checkout process to ensure fast checkout.
- Greets customers, conducts cash, debit, or credit transactions with customers and provides a receipt. Provides a fast and friendly customer service.
- Direct customers to merchandise within the store.




- Answer customer inquiries suggest items and assist customers with product.
- Identify customer needs and cultivate effective sales strategies to connect with them through various products and materials offered.
- Ability to solve problems; recognize customer needs, wants, and overcome objections.
- Identify add-ons and cross-selling opportunities to customers.
- Provide product knowledge to customers.
- Participate in product knowledge sessions.
- Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience.
- Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
- Be aware of current promotions, sales, and flyers.
- Introduce promotions and opportunities to customers.
- Comply with policies and procedures regarding loss prevention, breakage of goods and health and safety.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Retail Manager.

Requirements

- Minimum 3+ years of experience working within a retail setting. Experience in hardware, construction and trades would be an asset.
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency with computers
- Detail oriented
- Experience in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Experience working in a sales driven environment is an asset.
- Self motivated to drive completion of tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and reading skills.
- Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of proper loading and unloading techniques and equipment operation.




- Ability to lift to 50lbs.
- Comply with company, store, and warehouse policies.
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and report any observed safety hazards immediately.

Working Conditions

- Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required.
- Fast-paced workplace
- Working indoors/outdoors
- Overtime may be required.
