Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Security Guard role based in Toronto, ON.
The Security
Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling designated areas, monitoring access points, and observing for any suspicious activity or safety concerns. Day-to-day tasks include controlling entry to facilities, verifying identification and passes, responding to alarms and incidents, and reporting security or safety issues according to established procedures. The role also involves documenting occurrences in detailed incident reports, liaising with clients and visitors in a skilled manner,
and working closely with supervisors or local authorities when necessary.
Security
Guards are expected to follow company policies, adhere to site-specific post orders, and represent Paladin’s commitment to customer service and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong observation, situational awareness, and attention-to-detail skills to identify and respond to security and safety risks.
- Candidates should possess effective communication, de-escalation, and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, visitors, and team members in a professional manner.
- Candidates should possess basic report writing, documentation, and computer literacy skills to complete incident reports and use security systems or software.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving, sound judgment, and decision-making skills to handle emergencies and unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
- Valid provincial security guard license (or eligibility to obtain) and clean background record.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and perform duties that may involve stairs and outdoor conditions.
- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by site needs.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service is an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification and training in emergency response or conflict management are considered beneficial.**
