Senior Accountant – Financial Services

Location: Downtown Toronto | Full-Time | In-Office (5 Days/Week)

A leading financial services organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent chance to gain broad exposure across corporate financial reporting, mortgage accounting, partnership accounting, reconciliations, and finance operations within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform full-cycle accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, cash management, and month-end close activities.
- Support mortgage accounting, loan transactions, trust accounting, and financial reconciliations.
- Assist with financial statement preparation, HST filings, audits,



tax compliance, and partnership reporting.
- Support accounts payable, treasury, and broader finance operations.
- Identify process improvements and assist with accounting system enhancements and finance initiatives.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support special projects as required.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA completion.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within financial services, lending, real estate, investment management, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
