Job Title: Senior Developer

Location: Toronto, ON (hybrid)

Duration: 1 year to start (possibility for extension)

Rate: CAD60-CAD65/hr

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to support the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale data and reporting solutions within the Capital Markets and Liquidity Reporting space. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with Spark, Scala, Java, Hadoop, and Cassandra, along with a solid understanding of liquidity reporting, regulatory reporting, and capital markets products. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant solutions in a fast-paced financial services environment.

What You Need to Do

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing and reporting solutions using Spark, Scala, and Java.
- Build and optimize large-scale data pipelines leveraging Hadoop ecosystem technologies and distributed computing frameworks.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation plans.
- Develop and support liquidity reporting and regulatory reporting applications within Capital Markets environments.
- Design and implement data models, workflows, and integration solutions using Cassandra and other data platforms.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, architects, and stakeholders to define solution requirements and delivery timelines.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and support production deployments.
- Participate in performance tuning, troubleshooting,



and resolution of application and data-related issues.
- Create and maintain technical design documents, implementation guides, and support documentation.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and support best practices for software development and solution delivery.
- Present technical solutions, project updates, and recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders.

What You'll Need to Succeed

- 8+ years of experience in software development and solution design within Banking or Financial Services environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Scala, Apache Spark, and Java development.
- Experience working with Hadoop ecosystem technologies and large-scale data processing platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Cassandra or other NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of Liquidity Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, or Capital Markets products and processes.
- Experience designing and developing enterprise-grade data integration and reporting solutions.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience within Banking, Treasury, Risk, Liquidity Management, or Capital Markets domains is highly preferred.
