Overview ‍

Reporting to the President of Construction, the Senior Estimator serves as a senior expert and leads the preconstruction process. They oversee and develop a team while ensuring rigor in cost estimates and procurement strategies.

They are responsible for the critical analysis of bids — including validation, challenge, and recommendation— as well as the preparation of Class D through A budgets and guiding project financial decisions. With a strong understanding of all construction disciplines, they act as a technical and strategic reference for internal teams and external partners.

In This Role, You Will

- Structure and optimize estimating processes while acting as a trusted advisor to internal teams and leadership;
- Critically analyze bids (scope, consistency, risks) and recommend acceptance, negotiation, or rejection; support procurement strategies;
- Develop Class D through A budgets and build estimating models aligned with internal data and market conditions,



incorporating risk analysis;
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize technical and financial solutions, review plans, and lead value engineering initiatives;
- Maintain cost databases, monitor market trends, and implement tools to improve estimating accuracy.

What You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field;
- Minimum of10 years of experience in estimating, including in a senior or leadership role;
- Solid experience in the critical analysis of bids on complex projects;
- In-depth knowledge of construction disciplines, Class D through A budgets, and advance estimating methods;
- Proficiency with estimating tools and financial models;
- Strong leadership, analytical rigor, and sound professional judgment, with the ability to mentor and guide a team;
- Experience on large-scale projects ($50M+), preferably in multi-residential, commercial, or industrial sectors;
- Experience with base building and tenant improvement projects;
- Experience in civil works, excavation, general conditions, and negotiation is considered an asset.
