We are working with a large, established organization in the commercial real estate sector to bring on two Senior Financial Analysts, Real Estate for two-month contract assignments in Toronto. These are hybrid positions requiring one day per week onsite, with the remainder of the work completed remotely.
The organization is managing a high-volume period tied to property tax and tenant recovery activity and needs additional support to keep information moving accurately through its internal systems. The work is detailed and process-driven, combining financial data entry, recovery calculations, and Excel-based validation across a large property portfolio.
This role would suit someone who is comfortable working independently, moving through a significant volume of information, and maintaining a high level of accuracy without losing pace. Previous real estate or recovery experience would be helpful, but strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently are the main priorities.
Responsibilities
- Enter property tax information into internal applications and ensure all information is recorded accurately
- Review final tax bill documentation and complete the required coding and system updates
- Support the preparation of tenant recovery calculations using existing recovery models and processes
- Work within established Excel files and validate formulas, calculations, and outputs for accuracy
- Identify incomplete, inconsistent, or unusual information and follow up with the appropriate internal team members
- Perform reasonableness checks to confirm calculations align with the supporting documentation
- Maintain organized and accurate records across a high volume of properties and data sets
- Collaborate with the tax team and internal peers when more complex items require clarification
- Complete assigned work within tight timelines while maintaining strong quality and attention to detail
What We're Looking For
- Solid Excel skills, including experience working with formulas and validating existing calculations
- Previous financial analysis, accounting, property tax, recoveries, or related experience
- High level of accuracy when entering, reviewing, and reconciling financial information
- Ability to work through large volumes of data in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and the judgment to identify information that does not appear reasonable
- Comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate questions or inconsistencies
- Recovery, commercial real estate, or property accounting experience is considered an asset
- Familiarity with Ontario property tax methodologies, assessed values, or tax rates is considered an asset
- Ability to begin the assignment within a short timeframe
