The Opportunity
Our client, a major port operator in North America, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale civil infrastructure and terminal development projects across a major port and logistics asset.
This is a strategic project delivery role with responsibility for managing complex infrastructure works from planning through execution, while also supporting terminal automation, operational technology integration, and process optimization initiatives that enhance port efficiency and capacity.
The successful candidate will report directly to the senior leadership team and play a key role in the delivery of critical marine and logistics infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of port, marine, and terminal civil infrastructure projects , ensuring performance against scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives.
- Manage major infrastructure packages including terminal expansion works, quay and yard infrastructure, logistics facilities, utility networks, roadworks, drainage, and supporting marine infrastructure .
- Coordinate and manage EPC contractors, consultants, designers, and multi-disciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive project planning, procurement support, construction management, commissioning coordination, and project close-out activities.
- Act as the primary interface with internal operations teams to ensure infrastructure delivery aligns with terminal operational requirements.
- Support the implementation of terminal automation systems, process optimization initiatives, and operational technology integration associated with container and logistics operations.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain delivery performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and permitting requirements .
- Provide regular project reporting, governance updates, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Manage relationships with public authorities, regulators, utilities, local stakeholders, and private-sector partners.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 15 years’ experience delivering large-scale civil infrastructure, port, marine, or terminal projects .
- Strong project management background within complex industrial, logistics, transportation, or marine environments .
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors, consultants, and multi-disciplinary delivery teams on major capital projects.
- Proven track record delivering projects from concept and planning through construction and operational handover .
- Strong understanding of port and terminal infrastructure , including container terminal operations, yard infrastructure, logistics facilities, and marine interfaces.
- Experience supporting terminal automation, operational technology, digitalization, or process improvement projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across both public and private sector organizations .
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline .
- Professional project management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Fluent French and English communication skills are essential.
