Urban Treasures is a locally owned home décor, furniture, gift and plant boutique in Winnipeg. We believe shopping should feel inspiring, welcoming and personal. Whether a customer is searching for the perfect sofa, styling a shelf or finding a unique gift, our goal is to make every visit a great experience.

We're looking for a full-time Senior Retail Associate & Keyholder to join our team at our Pembina Highway location.

This role is ideal for someone with strong retail and customer service experience who genuinely enjoys home décor and design, is confident helping customers make decisions, and is ready to take on additional responsibility as a trusted senior member of our sales floor team.

This position primarily works evenings and weekends and will act as a keyholder, helping ensure the store runs smoothly and our customer service and store standards are maintained when management is not on-site.

Starting Schedule

Monday: 2:00–8:15 PM

Tuesday: 2:00–8:15 PM

Wednesday: OFF

Thursday: OFF

Friday: 2:00–8:15 PM

Saturday: 12:00–8:15 PM

Sunday: 11:30 AM–5:15 PM

This is intended to be a consistent weekly schedule, with some flexibility occasionally required for holidays, events and business needs.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive and knowledgeable service.
- Help customers select furniture, décor and accessories that work for their homes and personal style.
- Offer styling suggestions and confidently guide customers through decorating decisions.
- Open and close the store as a trusted keyholder and ensure closing procedures are completed properly.
- Operate our Shopify POS, process transactions and handle cash accurately.
- Maintain our visual merchandising and ensure displays remain beautiful, organized and well stocked.
- Receive shipments, replenish inventory and assist with general inventory organization.
- Water, prune and care for houseplants.




- Assemble furniture and assist with moving merchandise when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized and inspiring store environment.
- Answer customer phone calls and assist with questions, product inquiries and follow-ups.
- Support other team members and help maintain a positive, collaborative workplace.
- Take initiative during quieter periods and identify tasks that need attention without always needing direction.
- Help maintain Urban Treasures' customer service and store standards when management is not on-site.

We're Looking for Someone Who...

- Has previous retail sales and customer service experience.
- Has a genuine interest in home décor, furniture, styling and design.
- Is friendly, approachable and confident starting conversations with customers.
- Enjoys helping customers and can make thoughtful product and styling recommendations.
- Is comfortable taking responsibility and making reasonable decisions independently.
- Is dependable, organized and takes initiative.
- Can remain patient, positive and professional during busy periods.
- Is comfortable with POS systems, cash handling and basic retail procedures.
- Takes pride in keeping their workplace clean, organized and visually appealing.
- Works well as part of a team and is comfortable supporting newer employees.
- Is consistently available for the evening and weekend schedule outlined above.

Bonus Skills The following aren't required, but would be great assets:

- Home décor, furniture or interior design experience
- Visual merchandising experience
- Houseplant knowledge and plant care experience
- Shopify experience
- Barista or café experience
