They need a true Ansible and Red Hat Expert. Their internal resources in this specific automation domain are limited, so this hire must be fully autonomous from day one.

The primary mission is to administer, develop, and optimize their Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) 2.6 environment, specifically to automate enterprise-wide security patching across a fleet of Red Hat servers. Beyond patching, this individual will identify and execute further infrastructure automation opportunities.

s. Candidates must have experience with or a strong willingness to automate and manage Windows environments using Ansible.

Key Responsibilities

- Ansible Administration: Design, develop, and maintain playbooks and automation workflows within Ansible Automation Platform 2.6.
- Patch Automation: Drive the strategy and execution for automating security patching across the Red Hat server fleet and connected infrastructure.
- Hybrid Setting Management: Manage and configure Red Hat Linux servers while collaborating tightly with our dominant Microsoft/Windows infrastructure.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on-site.



Mentor junior/peer team members and collaborate with a second senior peer being hired concurrently.
- System Maintenance: Lead advanced troubleshooting for hardware, software, virtualization, and cloud systems. Handle occasional, planned after-hours work for critical system maintenance or deployment windows.

Technical Skills & Qualifications Must-Have (Hard Criteria)
- Ansible Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Ansible (specifically AAP 2.6), including playbook creation, role development, and platform administration.
- Red Hat Linux: Strong administration skills covering the enterprise Red Hat server fleet.
- Openness to Hybrid/Windows Environments: Comfortable managing and automating Windows Server patching alongside Linux.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant IT experience (6 years minimum may be considered for a Level 3 designation).
- Education: 2-year diploma or degree in a computer technology or engineering discipline.

Nice-to-Have
- Official Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Ansible automation certifications.
- Deep familiarity with enterprise patch management frameworks and compliance auditing.
