Afro Kitchen NL Ltd is a growing African restaurant bringing authentic West African cuisine and hospitality to Calgary. We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and reliable Bartender/Server to join our team and provide an excellent dining experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service, a strong knowledge of beverage preparation, and experience working in fast-paced restaurant environments.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, serving drinks accurately, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in food handling, POS systems, and hospitality operations while contributing to a vibrant social environment.

Responsibilities

- Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Take food and drink orders accurately and deliver them promptly
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and dining area
- Process payments using POS systems




- Ensure responsible alcohol service and follow all AGLC regulations
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required

Requirements

- Previous experience as a server or bartender preferred
- ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety standards
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in restaurants or hospitality environments
- Knowledge of African or international cuisine is an asset
