We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Architect to lead the technical design of a Microsoft 365–based modernization of a mission-critical platform.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a SharePoint/M365 solution architect, including at least one large SharePoint Online (or comparable modern SharePoint) implementation or migration.
- Deep expertise in SharePoint Online architecture: information architecture, content types, document libraries, versioning, retention, and large-scale document management, including an understanding of platform performance behavior with very large datasets and complex search/delegation scenarios.
- Hands-on architectural experience with the Power Platform, Power Apps (canvas) and Power Automate, including data connectivity, delegation limits, and application lifecycle management.
- Strong command of SharePoint Framework (SPFx) development and the surrounding modern toolchain (TypeScript, React, Node-based build/CI), sufficient to direct and review specialist developers.
- Solid grasp of the M365 security model, including role-based, row-level, and field-level authorization patterns and their trade-offs in SharePoint/Power Platform.
- Experience defining environment strategy, deployment/promotion processes, source control, and cutover/rollback planning for Power Platform and web/API components.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and enforce SharePoint/M365 governance frameworks.
- Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into clear architecture and design artifacts, and to communicate trade-offs to both business and IT stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background migrating away from legacy Nintex workflows.
- Understanding of M365 licensing (E3, F1/F3) and the ability to design within licensing constraints.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Power Platform Solution Architect, M365 Enterprise Administrator, or equivalent).
Key Attributes
- Governance-minded and pragmatic, with a track record of delivery mission critical applications
- Strong stakeholder skills, able to earn business sign-off rather than simply hand over a technical design.
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture across SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SPFx
- Define the data architecture with SharePoint Online as the backend for all data, including list/library structure, content types, metadata, versioning, and retention aligned to regulatory expectations.
- Design the dual front-end approach full authoring and administration in Power Apps for office users, and a lightweight, read-focused SPFx experience for frontline users — and define how consistency and end-to-end workflow visibility are maintained across the two.
- Architect document lifecycle capabilities: draft/approved states, minor/major version progression, formal approval workflows with reminders and escalation, PDF conversion and approval-date watermarking, and assembly of large manuals from multiple documents.
- Establish the authorization model (role-based, row-level, and field-level security) and map application access and authentication methods
- Define the environment and release strategy (Dev/Test/UAT/Prod), solution ALM for the Power Platform, CI/CD for SPFx, and source control approach.
- Advise on M365 licensing implications of the chosen architecture (E3 for office users, F1 for frontline users) and keep the design within those constraints.
- Establish and enforce governance covering solution structure, naming, permissions, workplace management, and change control.
- Produce architecture deliverables, risk definitions, and design documentation
