Old Yale Brewing opened our doors way back in 1999 and since our start, we’ve always stayed true to our roots, seeking perfect balance using the finest, all-natural ingredients to craft truly one-of-a-kind beers and delicious campfire-inspired food.

The Role

At Old Yale Brewing, the Shift Lead - FOH is a hospitality-focused leader who helps bring the OYB experience to life. You'll lead by example, support day-to-day front of house operations, coach team members, and help create memorable guest experiences while ensuring smooth, effective service throughout every shift.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, and support front-of-house team members.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and assist with service recovery.
- Oversee daily operations, staffing, and service execution.
- Support cash handling, inventory management, and retail merchandising.
- Assist with events, promotions, and community engagement initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, liquor service, and compliance standards.
- Help foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
- Take food and beverage orders and recommend beer, food, and merchandise.
- Accurately enter orders and process guest payments.




- Deliver food and beverages while ensuring quality and guest satisfaction.

Key Qualifications

- Minimum two years of hospitality, food and beverage, retail, or customer service experience.
- Previous leadership, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
- Valid Serving It Right (BC) certification required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable with POS systems, cash handling, and operational oversight.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead under pressure.
- Passion for hospitality, great food, and craft beer.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work flexible hours.
