The Opportunity

Echelon Engineering Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Site Inspector to support their Field Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting field inspections, monitoring construction activities, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct field inspections to monitor construction progress and verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Prepare daily field reports, inspection records, and photographic documentation.
- Communicate on site with Contractors, Municipal staff, sub-Consultants, Clients, and stakeholders.
- Verify installed works and quantities and assist in the preparation of Change Orders and Payment Certificates.
- Identify and address conflicts and ensure effective and timely resolution.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates on inspection findings and project status.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Qualifications & Experience





- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-10 years of direct experience in a site inspection role.
- Experience with construction of Sanitary and Storm Sewers, Watermain, and Road Construction.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and applicable codes and standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving capabilities, and record keeping abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and Contract documents.
- Experience with Environmental inspections and procedures is an asset.
- Experience with surveying equipment is an asset.
- Ability to multi-task and complete all tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Relevant industry certifications is an asset, including C.E.T., C.Tech, RCCA/RCSI/RCJI, CAN-CISEC, and willingness to maintain and pursue industry certifications.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites

- Use of personal vehicle required (mileage reimbursed)
