Join our dynamic team as a Skate Fitter & Hockey Equipment Sales Associate, where your passion for hockey will shine! In this role, you will assist customers in selecting the perfect skate fit and hockey gear, provide expert product demonstrations, and ensure each customer leaves confident and satisfied. Your technical knowledge will help elevate the shopping experience, making it memorable for every hockey enthusiast who walks through our doors.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs through engaging conversations about hockey equipment and skating accessories
- Conduct professional skate fittings, including measuring, heat molding, boot selection, blade sharpening recommendations, and fitting adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and performance
- Demonstrate product features and benefits through hands-on product demos, highlighting key technical specifications and usage tips
- Assist customers with selecting appropriate hockey gear such as helmets, pads, sticks, gloves, and apparel, providing expert advice tailored to skill level and playing style
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling, credit card processing, and maintaining organized merchandising displays




- Upsell complementary products by understanding customer needs and offering suitable upgrades or accessories to enhance their experience
- Maintain a clean, organized sales floor by restocking merchandise, merchandising products attractively, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent condition for display

Requirements

- Previous retail sales experience preferred; experience in Skate Fitting and Sharpening is a huge plus. Can train qualified candidate on other sport equipment knowledge.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical details clearly and confidently in English
- Knowledge of hockey equipment and skate fitting procedures is highly desirable; willingness to learn is essential
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for product placement and inventory management
- Basic math skills for cash handling, POS operations, and measurement calculations
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and phone etiquette when assisting clients remotely or over the phone
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of service
- Multilingual abilities are considered an asset for serving diverse customer bases
