SOC 201: Globalization and Development.

This course introduces students to sociological analyses and theories on the rise of global society. Specific topics may include issues such as the development of capitalist industrial societies, local and global inequalities, and the ways in which economic, technological, and political changes shape the world we live in.

Position Requirements

- M.A. in Sociology or a related social science field required; Ph.D. preferred.
- Demonstrated competence to teach the course subject matter.
- Demonstrated successful experience in university-level teaching.

Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours This course is scheduled to be taught online (Remote – Synchronous). The class is scheduled for Fridays 0830-1115. Instructors are expected to have one office hour per week.

Sessional Lecturers may have preparatory work to do before the start date and sometimes may have to deal with grading tasks after the termination date.
