About The Role We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Python Developer to join our digital solutions team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of scalable, cloud-based applications that support our innovative climate technology initiatives.

Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems and APIs using Python and FastAPI, while supporting event-driven architecture with Kafka. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, architects, DevOps engineers, QA, and other developers, to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance software solutions in cloud environments such as AWS and GCP. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a developer looking to expand their expertise in cloud computing, distributed systems, and modern software engineering practices while contributing to meaningful projects that support sustainability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.



A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in software development is required. You should have hands-on experience developing applications in Python, with a strong understanding of building APIs or backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI.

Experience working with Kafka or similar messaging platforms, along with familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, is essential. Knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and distributed systems is important. Proficiency with source control tools like Git, along with experience in software testing, debugging, and performance tuning, will be beneficial.

Candidates should have experience working within Agile development environments and possess strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced setting is crucial.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend applications and services using Python and FastAPI.
- Create and support scalable, secure RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop and maintain event-driven and message-based integrations utilizing Kafka.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, DevOps, QA, and other developers to deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
- Participate in application design discussions, technical planning, and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective fixes across distributed systems.




- Support cloud-native deployment and operations within AWS and/or GCP environments.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and team standards.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release processes.
- Assist with system monitoring, performance tuning, and reliability improvements in production environments.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for services, APIs, and support procedures.
- Continuously learn and incorporate new tools, frameworks, and engineering practices to enhance delivery and quality.
