We are looking for a passionate, dedicated individual to join our fast-growing team as a sous Chef. The kitchen assistant should be a reliable, dedicated individual able to work well and excel in a rapid past demanding environment. The individual will be primarily responsible for assisting the head chef in preparing nutritious and child-friendly meals on a daily basis while maintaining all ministry/ health regulation and ensuring the sanitation of the kitchen.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate would have kitchen experience and experience handling large scale meal prep along with all Chef duties including, but not limited to:

· Assist Chef with meal prep and and food handling

- Assist in serving meals and maintaining the kitchen
- Dishes and Maintaining overall cleanliness of Kitchen

· Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality · Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies

· Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards

· Prepare food in a timely manner

· Assist with Menu Planning

· Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with various collegues and staff

· Maintaining a healthy physical, emotional and social environment conducive to learning

· Ensuring the safety and well being of children at all times





· Proving occasional support to teachers in classrooms when needed

· Ensuring that all regulatory standards required by federal, provincial and municipal governments are being met at all times

· Other duties as required The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:

· A passion for Culinary and providing nourishing children meals

· Must have proven work experience for a minimum of two years- preferably in a childcare setting or large Kitchen/food handling operations

· Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently

· Attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills

· Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask

· Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate an assest

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Must have proven work experience for a minimum of two years

· Must be Food Safe certified / Food Handling Certificate

· Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment

· Knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques

· Excellent time management abilities

· Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes; able to cook and manage meal prep for children with allergies and various dietary restrictions

· Familiarity with sanitation regulations
