Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Structural Steel Fabricator and become a vital part of constructing high-quality steel frameworks for diverse construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling steel components with precision and efficiency. Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
- Operate machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and machining tools to cut and shape steel components accurately.
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble steel structures, ensuring all parts fit together seamlessly according to specifications.
- Perform welding tasks including MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and Metalcor welding to join steel components securely.
- Conduct rigging operations using cranes and forklifts to lift, position, and secure heavy steel sections safely.
- Measure materials with calipers and other precision tools while applying basic math skills for accurate fabrication.
- Inspect finished products for quality control, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project schematics.
- Assist in ductwork assembly and related construction activities as needed within manufacturing or construction environments.
Experience
- Proven experience in structural steel fabrication or related manufacturing fields with a focus on welding and assembly processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, machinery, schematics, and blueprint reading essential for precise fabrication work.
- Hands-on experience with MIG and Metalcore welding techniques required; familiarity with plasma cutting is a plus.
- Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, press brake machines, and other heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of rigging procedures for lifting heavy steel components during assembly.
- Prior construction or manufacturing experience involving structural assembly required.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks.
