PURPOSE

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience fitting, assembling, and preparing structural steel components according to drawings and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components according to drawings and shop standards
- Interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and measurements accurately
- Prepare steel members for welding, bolting, and installation
- Use cutting torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and other fabrication tools
- Verify dimensions and ensure components meet quality requirements
- Work with welders, fabricators, and shop supervisors to complete projects on schedule
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
- Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
- Operate overhead crane to move,



assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
- Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
- Operate band saw to cut structural steel materials to specified lengths.
- Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
- Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.

SPECIAL DEMANDSPHYSICAL DEMANDSJob Types: Full-time, Part-time

- 2+ years of experience as a structural steel fitter or fabricator
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication tools and equipment
- Comfortable with measuring, layout, and precision fitting
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment
- Welding experience is an asset (but not required)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $20.61-$35.33 per hour
