Orbital Research Ltd. is a BC based technology company that develops wireless and RF products for Satellite Communications in harsh and demanding environments. Our designs and products span DC to 50 GHz and are installed on vehicles, ships, aircraft, spacecraft and on the ground in remote locations as well as telecom carrier locations. Our team of specialists take new products from concept to volume production.

We currently have an opening for a SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST at our Burnaby, BC location. In this full-time, on-site position, you will be responsible to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement, inventory management, and supplier coordination that directly supports on-time delivery and optimal production flow for our build-to-order aerospace RF products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Purchasing and Supplier Management

- Executing purchasing activities, negotiating pricing and terms with vendors, and developing strong supplier relationships
- Monitoring and following up on supplier confirmations and order acknowledgements to support order accuracy and timelines
- Timely filing of quotations and accurate entry into the JB2 ERP system
- Expediting delayed or critical supplier shipments to meet operational requirements
- Maintaining accurate supplier lead times and delivery dates in the ERP system
- Monitoring supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery
- Investigating and resolving invoice and receiving discrepancies
- Executing supplier returns related to defective or incorrect parts using SCAR, CARs
- Coordinating with Quality on rejected material, MRB, or non-conforming parts, and customer returns
- Ensuring supplier documentation, certifications, and required records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company requirements.

Inventory Management

- Maintaining bin locations, proper inventory storage, labeling, inventory master data, and ensuring alignment and accuracy between ERP records and physical inventory
- Conducting weekly and monthly reviews of inventory levels, including slow moving, obsolete inventory to ensure accuracy of stock records and appropriate replenishment planning
- Cycle counting, and timely inventory reconciliation and adjustments. All inventory adjustments are supported,



documented, and completed with appropriate approvals
- Data entry for raw material movement and utilizing analytics to predict inventory needs and optimize logistic operations
- Picking, counting, and labeling parts for production.

Logistics, Shipping and Receiving

- Preparing shipping and Customs documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance with required standards
- Coordinating courier, freight, and customs paperwork, tracking shipments and communicating delivery status for both inbound and outbound movement
- Investigating goods damaged in transit and submitting claims to carriers
- Working closely with in-bound/out-bound carriers to support customer, transportation, and operational objectives
- Coordinating with inbound and outbound carriers to support operational requirements, customer commitments, and transportation objectives.

Supply Chain Process Improvement

- Implementing supply chain initiatives or strategies to identify ways to eliminate waste, achieve high productivity, and streamline inefficient areas
- Supporting work instructions and process documentation
- Identifying recurring supply chain issues and recommending improvements for standardization.

Communication, Reporting and Issue Escalation

- Communicating logistics, inventory, purchasing and other issues to management that will affect productivity and/or customer service
- Preparing shortage, open PO, inventory, and supplier status reports
- Communicating risks that may affect production, customers, or delivery commitments
- Participating in cross-functional meetings with Production, Engineering, Finance, and Quality to
- facilitate communication and resolve supply chain issues
- Performing additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned by management to support business objectives.

Minimum Qualification and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain,



Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 3+ years experience in a Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace or Electronics preferred).
- APICS/ASCM, SCMP, CPIM, CSCP, or related certification considered an asset
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, JobBOSS, Epicor, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid Excel and data analysis skills.
- A good understanding of accounting principles such as PO Lifecycle, inventory valuation and costing methods, accounts payable and basic financial statements.
- An understanding of contract law related to purchasing contracts, supplier agreements, risk management and including knowledge of shipping such as Incoterms, customs documentation and freight and carrier agreements.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100D systems is a plus.
