KSOA Description The Kingston School of Art, a non-profit charitable organization, was formed in 1994. Governed by a community based volunteer Board of Directors, the School is supported by fundraising, student fees, donations and grants.

People involved in the School recognize the importance of art and believe that affordable fine arts programming should be available to the Kingston community. Our mission involves supporting local artists in our community.

Join KSOA as a teaching artist where your passion for creativity and education will inspire diverse learners of all ages. Artists can choose their medium, the age group or groups they want to connect to and level of difficulty they will present in their course.

Your Responsibilities include:

- Develop and implement innovative lessons tailored to the level, age and length of the course you choose. You pick the best time in your schedule to present your course and coordinate with KSOA availability. (Example: once a week for 8 weeks for 2 hours; beginners; adults). We also encourage workshop ideas!
- Provide KSOA with a detailed supply list for students to be able to join your sessions prepared for their artistic adventure
- Ensure that your studio is a safe, inclusive space for all participants
- Light setup to meet your specific needs and tidy up when your session is completed
- Share your course on social media to encourage wider audience range

What Does KSOA Do:





- We will slot in your course at a time that works for the artist and studio availability
- We will provide marketing materials that we will share on all our platforms and encourage you to do so as well
- We will price out your course to ensure that it covers all costs and artists are paid monthly by submitting their working hours (KSOA does not cover planning time)
- Support the artist throughout their sessions with administration duties
- We handle all registration information, payment and correspondence with students to provide you with a comprehensive student list when you begin your course
- Provide all basic materials needed in the studio

How You Can Apply Directly to KSOA:

1. Submit a portfolio / examples of your work for review and to use for marketing materials.
2. A resume outlining your working experience particularly in an educational setting
3. Let us know what kind of course you’d like to teach and a general concept
