Teaching Assistant The Teaching Assistant supports the classroom teacher in creating a dynamic, engaging, and supportive learning environment for school age students. Working collaboratively with the lead teacher, the assistant helps foster academic growth, social development, and personal responsibility in students as they prepare for high school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide assistance with daily classroom activities, including supervision, organization of materials, and preparation of lessons or projects.
- Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts, provide clarification, and encourage academic success.
- Assist in monitoring student behavior, promoting a positive and respectful classroom environment, and supporting classroom management strategies.
- Accompany and supervise students during transitions, breaks, field trips, and other school activities.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, staff,



and parents, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Assist with grading, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills in line with curriculum goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with adolescents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and well-being.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with teachers and staff, and demonstrate initiative when needed.
- Previous experience working with school age students is a welcome asset.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.65-$21.15 per hour
