Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Team Lead assists the Line and Production Supervisors in overseeing production. They are responsible for the supervision and coordinator of a team of workers to ensure they meet production targets and quality standards while monitoring production efficiency. They will be tasked with training production staff in methods and safety, as well as maintaining team morale and creating a positive and safe work environment.

Through the effective management of targets, goals and production efficiencies, the Team Lead will ensure the ongoing success of their production team.

Responsibilities Associated with Performing the Job

Supervisory

- Monitor the performance of the team
- Assist and train current employees in job duties, safety procedures
- Confer with production manager to resolve worker problems, complaints and performance issues
- Provide motivation for employees, increasing morale
- Monitor and assess employee performance
- Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
- Develop Team-Work and motivate members through setting of clear expectations and recognize and reward outstanding performance
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Coordinate and oversee employee work assignments and special projects
- Other duties as assigned

Production
- Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion, within budget
- Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work area
- Increase worker efficiency and production rates
- Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
- Provide information for production plans to ensure that production objectives are met
- Coordinate with other supervisors, leads, and managers to obtain maximum use of resources.
- Other duties as assigned

Food Safety




- Monitor department equipment and employees to ensure a sanitary environment is kept and that GMP’s are adhered too.
- Ensure that CCP (critical control points), CP (control points) and quality documents are completed at the scheduled frequency, either by other properly trained team members or themselves.
- Other duties as assigned.

Administrative
- Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Work within ERP system, and both manually and electronically maintain inventory of goods.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge/Experience Required to Perform the Job
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of baking experience preferred
- Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation,
- and principles of safe food handling required.
- Effective communication skills.
- Highly effective teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Mental Effort Required to Perform the Job
- Visual concentration or alertness is required when inspecting products on a moving assembly line to ensure that a damaged or defective product does not reach the consumer.
- Auditory concentration or strain is experienced when communicating/interacting with coworkers and supervisor and when listening for equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in a noisy environment.
- Higher than normal levels of attentiveness or alertness for the health and safety of others is required when supervising the production line
- Time pressures and deadlines are experienced regularly as daily production schedule must be met to ensure product is ready for shipping.

Physical Effort Required to Perform the Job Physical capacity of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds may be required. Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time.
