Prairie Gateway Rail Ltd. is an up-and-coming Manitoba-based rail services company delivering safe, reliable, and practical railway solutions . We specialize in track and switch maintenance, inspections, industrial switching, railway construction support, and rail advisory services that help our customers operate safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

- Perform maintenance, repair, and construction of railway track, switches, crossings, and related infrastructure.
- Replace ties, rail, joint bars, tie plates, anchors, spikes, and other track components.
- Assist with surfacing, lining, gauging, and aligning track to meet regulatory and customer standards.
- Operate hand tools, hydraulic tools, tampers, rail saws, drills, and other railway maintenance equipment.
- Assist with ballast distribution, tamping, and track rehabilitation projects.
- Work safely around active railway operations, heavy equipment, and construction activities.
- Assist with derail installations, rail infrastructure improvements, and railway construction projects.
- Complete daily work reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Travel to customer sites throughout Manitoba as required.
- Follow all Prairie Gateway Rail safety policies, customer requirements,



and Transport Canada regulations.

Experience
- Previous railway track maintenance experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Experience in construction, heavy civil, road building, landscaping, or heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely operate power tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence is required.
- Class 3 Licence, First Aid, WHMIS, CSTS, Flagging, or railway certifications are considered assets.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime when operational requirements demand.
