About the Role The Treasury Analyst is responsible for supporting day-to-day banking operations, treasury activity, and client bank reconciliations. This role ensures that incoming and outgoing banking transactions are accurate, compliant, properly documented, and reflected correctly in internal systems. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, effective communication, and the ability to investigate and resolve transaction or reconciliation issues in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury Operations and Transaction Review
- Review incoming and outgoing wire transfers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and banking requirements.
- Cross-check transaction details against supporting documentation to verify legitimacy and ensure transactions are appropriately supported.
- Coordinate approvals for high-value, unusual, or exception-based transactions in accordance with established procedures.
- Apply awareness of anti-money laundering, know your customer, and internal control standards when reviewing banking activity.
- Communicate with banks and internal teams to resolve transaction issues, delays, or exceptions.
- Support the setup and maintenance of corporate bank accounts, including online banking user access changes.
Bank Reconciliations and Financial Accuracy
- Perform daily client bank reconciliations, ensuring all bank entries are accurately posted into the internal system.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, unclassified transactions, posting errors, and unmatched items in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate reconciliation records and provide updates to management on outstanding issues, trends, or risks.
- Support coverage for client banking reconciliations during high-volume periods, absences, or operational peaks.
Issue Resolution, Controls, and Escalation
- Identify, investigate, and escalate transaction errors, reconciliation breaks, delays, compliance concerns, or process control issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate transaction records, supporting documentation, and system updates to support audit readiness and operational reporting.
- Help ensure banking activity is processed securely, accurately, and in line with internal procedures and control expectations.
Operational Support and Process Improvement
- Provide backup support to treasury operations, banking administration, and reconciliation activities as required.
- Assist with data entry and operational processing during high-volume periods.
- Participate in ad-hoc tasks, process improvement initiatives, and projects focused on enhancing efficiency, accuracy, security, and control.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, banks, and management to support smooth banking operations and timely issue resolution.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience or working knowledge of banking operations, wire transfers, treasury processes, or bank reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies, errors, and unusual activity.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and drive timely resolution.
- Understanding of internal controls, documentation requirements, and basic AML and KYC principles.
- Ability to manage daily deadlines, prioritize work, and provide reliable operational coverage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with banks, internal teams, and management.
- Proficiency with internal systems, online banking platforms, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
