Tri-Axle Dump Truck Driver

Ackert Construction Ltd. is looking for an experienced Tri-Axle Dump Truck Driver to join our team. We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, takes pride in their equipment, and is comfortable working in an excavation and construction environment.

This is a full-time position hauling aggregates, topsoil, fill, construction materials, and other materials to and from job sites, pits, quarries, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a tri-axle dump truck on roads and active construction sites
- Haul gravel, sand, stone, topsoil, fill, asphalt, and other construction materials
- Complete daily pre-trip inspections
- Maintain required CVOR, inspection, and delivery documentation
- Safely load, haul, and dump materials in a variety of job-site conditions
- Communicate with equipment operators, foremen, customers, and suppliers
- Keep assigned truck clean and well maintained
- Identify and report maintenance or mechanical issues
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable MTO regulations
- Assist around job sites when required
- Take pride in the truck, equipment, and work being completed

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional dump truck/heavy truck driving experience – required
- Valid Ontario DZ driver's licence – required
- AZ driver's licence is a strong asset
- Clean driver's abstract
- Experience operating a tri-axle dump truck
- Experience working on excavation and construction sites
- Valuable understanding of load weights, safe dumping procedures,



and changing job-site conditions
- Ability to complete daily inspections and recognize basic mechanical issues
- Dependable and punctual
- Able to follow directions and communicate effectively with the crew
- Able to work independently without constant supervision

Applicants without the required 3 years of driving experience will not be considered for this position.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced driver who knows how to work around heavy equipment and active construction sites.

You should be able to show up on time, look after your truck, communicate with the crew, and get material where it needs to go safely and efficiently.

This isn't strictly highway driving. Our trucks operate around excavators, loaders, dozers, road construction, tight job sites, soft ground, and changing site conditions. Being comfortable in these environments is an important part of the position.

Compensation

- Pay based on experience
- Starting wage will be determined based on qualifications and previous experience
- Probationary period applies
- Wage may be reviewed following successful completion of the probationary period
