Duties

- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods between locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Load and unload cargo with care, utilizing heavy lifting techniques when necessary to handle freight securely
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times and fuel usage, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver reports, and documentation for all shipments




- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any vehicle issues promptly to ensure optimal performance

Qualifications

- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements for heavy trucks
- Proven experience driving large trucks or similar heavy vehicles in various conditions
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of loading or unloading cargo
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and route planning techniques
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Physical stamina to handle long hours of driving and manual tasks involved in cargo handling
