Join Red Deer Neighbourhood Watch Association as a Volunteer Board Member and play a pivotal role in guiding our strategic direction, governance, and overall mission to assist our community to develop safer neighbourhoods through education and promotion of crime prevention strategies. This volunteer position offers an exciting opportunity to influence organizational growth and work with your community members.

As a member on the board, you will collaborate with fellow members to ensure the organization’s sustainability and impact to drive meaningful change and support operational success.

Our board meets every second month excluding the summer season. We don't require a lot of time but we would appreciate someone who is committed to showing up to meetings and events.

Responsibilities

- Provide strategic oversight and contribute to the development of organizational policies and long-term goals
- Actively participate in board meetings, committees, and special projects to support organizational initiatives
- Engage in community development efforts by identifying opportunities for growth and partnerships




- Offer guidance on process improvement initiatives
- Support leadership in compliance and financial oversight to ensure organizational integrity
- Champion Red Deer Neighbourhood Watch's mission and values both internally and externally to strengthen community engagement

Requirements

- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and the community
- Strong commitment to the organization’s mission and ethical standards
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to influence and inspire others
- Prior experience serving on a board is preferred but not mandatory
- Willingness to dedicate time for meetings, strategic planning sessions, and organizational events
