Job Overview

I am seeking a motivated, energetic & reliable Weekend Commercial Cleaner to join my team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of commercial spaces on sundays (hardware/plywood stores x 3) in parksville and qualicum with optional potential to pick up residential cleaning through the week if you'd like, make your own schedule for those clients. I need someone available for a full day approx 5.5 hours on sunday's to start.

I will provide all cleaning supplies and vaccuum and mop to use.

Responsibilities

- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces during weekend shifts
- Use appropriate cleaning tools and supplies to ensure surfaces are sanitized, dust-free, and well-maintained
- Conduct routine facilities maintenance tasks such as trash removal, floor polishing, and restocking supplies
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a protected working environment at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete special cleaning projects or deep-cleaning tasks as needed

Qualifications

- Prior experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Robust attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during weekend hours




- Good physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and lift moderate loads
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures is advantageous
- Reliable transportation to reach the work site on weekends is a must
- Reliable person who is looking to be around long term
- Must be able to provide clear criminal record check before first day

Island Life Home Care

Position is available to start Aug 9 for training and then will be doing the stores on your own going forward.

Looking to have sub contractor to start and willing to hire as an employee after if staying long term but sub contactor is easiest to start only need to give me an invoice once a month to save for tax purposes but i will pay you bi weekly once businesses pay me.

$30 per hour only while at cleaning locations, and 73 cents per km in-between locations paid as well.
