Duties
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the exam
- Operate X-ray equipment to capture high-quality images of various parts of the body, adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines
- Review images for clarity and proper positioning, retaking images if necessary to ensure diagnostic accuracy
- Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, patient information, and imaging results in compliance with privacy regulations
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to interpret images and assist in diagnosis when needed
- Follow strict infection control procedures and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance
- Stay current with advancements in imaging technology and best practices by participating in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an X-Ray Technologist or similar role within a healthcare setting
- Solid knowledge of medical terminology related to radiology and patient care
- Certification or licensure as required by local health authorities or regulatory bodies for radiologic technologists
- Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while minimizing radiation exposure for patients and staff
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and team members
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing multiple procedures efficiently
