About Mississauga United FC
Mississauga United FC is a growing youth soccer club serving children and families across Mississauga. We offer recreational, development, and competitive soccer programs that help young players improve their skills, build confidence, make friends, and develop a lifelong love of the game.
As our programs continue to grow, we are looking for enthusiastic and dependable youth soccer coaches to join our recreational and player-development programs.
About the Position The Youth Soccer Coach will lead fun, organized, and age-appropriate training sessions for children and youth. This role is suitable for both experienced coaches and promising candidates who want to begin or develop their coaching careers.
Previous coaching experience and soccer certification are valuable but are not required for every assignment. Training, session plans, mentorship, and ongoing support may be provided to suitable developing coaches.
This is an excellent opportunity for university or college students, former youth players, current soccer players, educators, and individuals who enjoy working with children.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver fun, active, and age-appropriate soccer sessions
- Teach fundamental soccer skills, including dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, movement, and teamwork
- Follow club session plans and player-development guidelines
- Create a safe, welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment
- Encourage participation, confidence, sportsmanship, and respect
- Adapt activities to the age, ability, and experience of the players
- Set up and put away balls, cones, pinnies, goals, and other equipment
- Supervise players and maintain appropriate safety standards
- Communicate professionally with players, parents, other coaches, and club staff
- Arrive on time and be prepared for all assigned sessions
- Record attendance or complete brief session reports when required
- Follow Mississauga United FC policies,
procedures, and code of conduct
Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for soccer and youth development
- Experience playing, coaching, teaching, volunteering, or working with children
- Positive, patient, responsible, and energetic personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain and demonstrate basic soccer activities
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching feedback
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a coaching team
- Availability during weekday evenings and/or weekends
- Ability to travel reliably to program locations in Mississauga
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Successful Vulnerable Sector Check required before beginning applicable coaching assignments
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it
Preferred Assets
- Previous youth soccer coaching experience
- Canada Soccer or Ontario Soccer coach education
- Experience working at camps, schools, recreation programs, or community organizations
- Competitive or recreational soccer playing experience
- Experience working with young children
- Early childhood education, teaching, kinesiology, recreation, or sport-management background
- Ability to coach more than one age group
- Fluency in an additional language
- Interest in coaching girls’ programs

Suitable developing coaches may receive:
- Structured session plans and coaching resources
- Mentorship from experienced technical staff
- Opportunities to assist before leading sessions independently
- Support in completing appropriate coach education
- Opportunities to advance into development or competitive coaching roles
Schedule Programs generally take place on weekday evenings and weekends. The number of assigned hours will depend on coach availability, program registration, experience, and seasonal scheduling.
Expected commitment: approximately 3–10 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours through camps, clinics, tournaments, and other club programs.
Compensation
$20–$28 per hour, based on coaching experience, qualifications, responsibilities, and assigned program.
