About the Role
The Company is seeking an AVP Finance with a strong background in external financial reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, managing the implementation of new IFRS accounting and regulatory standards, and overseeing compliance with various regulatory requirements. This role also involves collaborating with the executive team to provide financial insights, training and supervising junior staff, and working with external auditors to facilitate efficient audits. The AVP Finance will be instrumental in driving process improvements and creating efficiencies within the finance department.
Applicants for the AVP Finance position at the company must have a CPA,
CA designation, a minimum of 10 years' post-designation experience, and a background in financial reporting, planning, and analysis. While not mandatory, experience in the insurance industry, particularly in property and casualty, is preferred. The role requires a candidate with a strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS 17, proven analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Solid interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
