Req ID: 224812Location: WesternZone,Valley Regional HospitalDepartment: OPWZ Rehab Physiotherapy VRHType of Employment: TemporaryHourly FT long-assignment(100%) x 1Union: CUPEHealthcarePositionPosting Closing Date: 12-Aug-26About the OpportunityUnder the direction of the Manager, and under the supervision of therapists, the Rehabilitation Assistant, as an active member of the patient care team, works with individuals, families and groups to help educate and promote movement, occupation, and function. Working collaboratively with their team, the Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of interventions that have been assigned by the therapists for patients coping with limitations in movement and daily function. The Rehabilitation Assistant also checks and cleans equipment, maintains treatment and storage areas and may order necessary supplies. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.About YouGrade 12 or GEDRehabilitation Assistant Program (which includes both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)Basic Cardiac Life SupportAbility to communicate well with both patients and their families and staffGood interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with team membersOrganizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levelsKnowledge of proper body mechanicsDemonstrate basic computer skillsCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredAccess to reliable transportationHoursLong assignment,
