What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive energy audits to assess lighting systems and renewable technologies in various commercial and industrial settings.
- Design and develop energy-efficient lighting solutions that align with client specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy technologies into existing infrastructures.
- Analyze energy consumption data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend actionable strategies.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in lighting and renewable energy technologies.
- Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure successful implementation of energy solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients throughout the project lifecycle, from initial consultation to post-implementation review.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to educate clients and team members about energy efficiency best practices.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source high-quality materials and technologies for energy projects.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials and case studies to showcase successful projects and innovations.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your expertise in energy engineering and related fields.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in energy engineering, with a focus on lighting systems and renewable technologies.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software and tools, such as EnergyPlus, eQUEST, or similar applications.
- Robust understanding of lighting design principles, including the latest LED technologies and controls.
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, and energy storage solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Project management experience is a plus, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
Nice to have
- Skilled Engineering (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration.
- Experience with building energy management systems (BEMS) and smart building technologies.
- Knowledge of LEED certification processes and energy efficiency standards.
- Familiarity with local and national energy codes and regulations.
- Experience in conducting training or workshops on energy efficiency topics.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting and presentations.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software for creating lighting layouts.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques to evaluate energy performance metrics.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the energy sector.
