Director of Finance (Group CFO) (BBBH12005) Toronto, CanadaSalary: CAD180,000 - CAD200,000 per yearPermanent position.Our client is a global insurance organization with operations across North America, Europe, and Asia. Headquartered in Europe, the company is recognized for its financial strength, disciplined growth strategy, and commitment to delivering innovative insurance solutions across multiple markets. As the organization continues to expand its North American presence, they are seeking a strategic finance leader to oversee the Canadian finance function and serve as a key advisor to both local and international stakeholders.Our client is seeking a Director of Finance (Group CFO) to lead the Canadian finance organization and act as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and the Board. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, governance, and business planning while providing financial insight and advisory support to drive organizational performance and growth.Principal tasks and responsibilities include:Lead all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingOversee the preparation and review of financial statements, management reporting packages, and consolidated reporting requirementsPrepare and present board reporting materials, financial performance updates, strategic recommendations, and business insights to executive leadership and board-level stakeholdersAct as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by providing financial guidance, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to support decision-makingDevelop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, long-range plans,



and financial models to support growth and profitability objectivesLead treasury management, liquidity planning, cash flow forecasting, and capital management activitiesOversee regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance within a regulated financial services environmentManage relationships with external auditors, regulators, banking partners, tax advisors, and other key external stakeholdersEnsure solid governance, internal controls, risk management practices, and financial policies are maintained across the organizationPartner with operational and commercial leaders to identify opportunities for business improvement, profitability enhancement, and operational efficiencySupport strategic initiatives including acquisitions, integrations, market expansion opportunities, and corporate development activitiesDevelop and monitor financial and operational KPIs to drive accountability and performance across the businessLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting teamDrive finance transformation initiatives, reporting enhancements, process improvements, and automation projectsCollaborate closely with international finance teams and global leadership to ensure consistency in reporting, planning, and financial strategyServe as a key liaison between Canadian operations, global headquarters, executive leadership,



and board-level stakeholdersQualifications and prerequisitesCPA designation required12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior leadership responsibilitiesExperience within insurance, financial services, banking, wealth management, or another regulated industryStrong background in financial reporting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, capital management, governance, and strategic planningDemonstrated experience preparing and presenting board reporting packages and supporting board-level discussionsProven ability to act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and influence organizational decision-makingExperience managing relationships with auditors, regulators, financial institutions, investors, and other senior stakeholdersExperience working within a multinational or global organization is strongly preferredKnowledge of insurance accounting, regulatory reporting, solvency requirements, and risk management frameworks is considered an assetStrong understanding of governance, internal controls, audit requirements, and compliance environmentsAdvanced ERP systems experience and strong Microsoft Excel skillsExceptional communication, presentation, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilitiesAbility to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution when requiredAdditional information or perksCompetitive annual bonus programComprehensive health and dental benefitsHybrid work environmentExecutive leadership role with direct exposure to global headquarters and board-level stakeholdersOpportunity to influence business strategy and organizational growthJoin a financially strong international organization with a significant North American presenceOffice located in Toronto's east end with convenient access to Highway 401 #J-18808-Ljbffr
