The role of Director of Engineering for Shared Services is pivotal in steering our growth and ensuring the seamless integration of our infrastructure, DevOps, and quality assurance functions.Key factsLocation: TorontoEngagement: Full-TimeTeam: Shared Services (Infrastructure, DevOps, and Quality Assurance)What you'll doOversee and guide the Shared Services team, which encompasses Infrastructure, DevOps, and Quality Assurance, ensuring alignment with company goals.Establish and uphold standards for system architecture, security protocols, performance metrics, and operational reliability across all services.Develop comprehensive service models, intake processes, and standard operating procedures to streamline engineering workflows and enhance efficiency.Advocate for a platform-centric methodology that prioritizes automation, effective tooling, and robust environment management.Collaborate closely with Product, Delivery, and Services teams to manage project dependencies and ensure cohesive execution of initiatives.Continuously refine processes related to release management, incident response, and overall delivery predictability to enhance operational effectiveness.Cultivate a culture of accountability within the team,
promoting clear pathways for career advancement and professional development.Improve the developer experience by optimizing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, as well as enhancing internal tools.Conduct thorough analyses of technical architecture to identify and address capacity constraints and delivery challenges.Design and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy that aligns with both company objectives and client expectations, ensuring high standards of service delivery.RequirementsProven experience in managing teams focused on Infrastructure, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Quality Assurance within a rapidly growing enterprise SaaS environment.Strong technical foundation in cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and API design principles.Demonstrated ability to enhance engineering operating models and facilitate cross-functional delivery across diverse teams.Expertise in designing scalable systems that prioritize consistency, maintainability, and performance.Familiarity with quality assurance frameworks, automated testing methodologies, and lifecycle defect management processes.Proficiency in navigating complex B2B and B2B2C ecosystems, particularly in environments with elevated customer expectations.Excellent communication skills,
