Role Description The Associate Lawyer will work on a full-time, on-site basis at the Toronto, ON office, providing legal services under the supervision and guidance of senior counsel. Day-to-day responsibilities include legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, preparing correspondence, and assisting in case strategy development. The role involves meeting with clients, gathering and organizing evidence, and preparing materials for negotiations, hearings, and court appearances. The Associate Lawyer will collaborate with other team members, manage assigned files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with firm procedures and qualified obligations. The position also includes contributing to practice development efforts, such as participating in networking,



client outreach, or educational initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

- ideally 3-5 years of experience.
- Strong legal research and analytical abilities, including proficiency with legal databases and case law analysis.
- Drafting and reviewing skills for contracts, pleadings, affidavits, legal opinions, and client correspondence.
- Client service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and the ability to explain legal concepts in accessible terms.
- Organizational and file management skills, including attention to detail, time management, and deadline tracking.
- Advocacy and negotiation capabilities, with confidence in representing client interests in discussions and proceedings.
- Licensed to practice law in Ontario (member in positive standing of the Law Society of Ontario, or eligibility for membership).
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and adherence to ethical and confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site in a small team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Prior experience as an articling student or junior lawyer is an asset, especially in a boutique or specialized practice.
