Join the County of Grande Prairie as a full time Kennel Attendant at the Regional Animal Pound. Provide care and support for animals while maintaining facility standards and public licensing services.
As a key member of the Regional Enforcement Services department, you'll work collaboratively under the guidance of the Poundkeeper. This position demands strong interpersonal skills as you perform tasks such as cleaning kennels, caring for animals, and handling licensing documentation. Your ability to manage various responsibilities with minimal supervision will enhance our service delivery and ensure animal wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and disinfect animal kennels and facility areas
• Maintain animal care and wellbeing through attentive service




• Issue licenses and collect relevant fees from the public
• Complete necessary records and documentation efficiently
• Assist members of the public with professionalism
Requirements:
• Secondary school diploma is required
• Experience in animal control or shelters preferred
• Physically fit for labor duties, including 40 lbs lifting
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends
• Satisfactory criminal record check required
