Overview

Director, Global A&R responsible for talent identification, acquisition, artist development, project execution and global strategy across Warner Music Canada/ADA Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Talent Identification & Acquisition – Identify and sign emerging artists globally.
• Creative Development & Artist Strategy – Collaborate with producers, songwriters, artists to shape musical vision and mentor artists.
• Project Management & Oversight – Manage producers, songwriters, budgets, timelines, oversee studio shoots, and ensure productive project execution.
• Market Analysis & Industry Trends – Monitor emerging trends, recommend strategic adjustments, and engage on social media.
• Global Impact & Branding – Execute strategies for global exposure, collaborating with marketing, PR, and other departments.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8 to 10 years in A&R or related roles with a strong track record.
• Strong ear for emerging talent, trends,
  
  
  
  and sound innovations.
• Ability to translate creative vision into actionable strategies driving commercial success.
• Proven leadership and the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
• Flexibility to travel on short notice.
• Post‑secondary education in Creative Arts, Music, or Business Management is an asset.
• Deep understanding of digital commerce, DSP artist portals, and key playlists.

Work Environment

Regular, full‑time position (37.5 hours/week) based in Toronto, Ontario. Requires presence in the office 4 days a week. Compensation range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually.
