In this role, you will:
- Lead design and implementation of highly scalable products and solutions with clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Identify opportunities for process and technology improvements and work toward their adoption.
- Assist in supporting production systems, investigating issues and driving resolutions.
- Exercise creativity and provide alternative solutions, removing roadblocks and driving issues to closure.
- Create and update documentation to share knowledge across the team.
- Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique the work of yourself and others.
- Collaborate on user story creation with the team and product managers.
- Work closely with Senior and Principal Developers and the Product Manager to find effective solutions to problems.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related technical field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a Master’s degree.
- Experience developing with modern programming languages such as Java or Kotlin.
- Proficiency in designing and building REST and gRPC APIs and applying object-oriented programming principles (e.g., SOLID, Domain-Driven Design).
Preferred qualifications
- Bilingual in French and English.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Experience with both relational and non-relational data stores.
- Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies, Git source control,
and familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog).
- Demonstrated ability to design and architect moderately complex, distributed systems.
- Experience working in an Agile team environment and supporting applications in production, including debugging and troubleshooting.
Offer: The total cash range for this position in Montreal is $108,500 to $152,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $173,500 based on ongoing performance.
