What youll do

• Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Conduct site investigations and geotechnical assessments to evaluate soil and rock properties, providing critical data for project design.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, ensuring they meet industry standards and client specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and environmental engineers, to develop integrated project solutions.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs, providing expert advice and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations related to geotechnical engineering and environmental standards.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

• Prepare proposals and presentations for potential clients, showcasing Blumetrics capabilities and expertise in geotechnical engineering.

Requirements

• A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record in project management.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Ontario is required.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical design principles, soil mechanics, and site investigation techniques.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively.
• Proficient in geotechnical software and tools, such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
• Strong understanding of AutoCAD and other design software.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and presentations.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
