Role The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, building, implementing, and continuously improving technical security controls that protect the organization’s information systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role has a solid hands‑on engineering focus and works closely with IT infrastructure, cloud, network, and application teams to embed security into platforms and services by design. The Cybersecurity Engineer translates security requirements and risk management objectives into scalable, resilient, and automated security solutions aligned with the organization’s risk appetite, policies, and regulatory requirements.Our Company Pan American Silver was created with the intention to provide investors with the best vehicle to gain exposure to higher silver prices. The Company provides equal opportunities to all persons regardless of age, colour, national origin, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal, provincial, or local law.Major Responsibilities Security Operations & MonitoringEngineer and optimize security tooling such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, SASE, and firewallsImprove detection capabilities through log onboarding, correlation rules, alerts, and use case developmentSupport incident response by providing deep technical analysis, improving tools, and automation for containment and recoveryPerform root cause analysis and implement long‑term engineering fixes to prevent recurrenceSecurity Engineering & ArchitectureDesign, implement, and maintain security architectures and technical controls across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environmentsEngineer and harden security solutions including endpoint protection, identity controls, network security, encryption,



and loggingReview system and application designs to ensure security is embedded early in projects (secure by design principles)Develop and maintain secure configuration baselines for servers, endpoints, network devices, and cloud resourcesVulnerability & Threat ManagementDesign and maintain vulnerability management processes, including scanning, prioritisation, remediation tracking, and validationIntegrate vulnerability and threat intelligence into security controls and engineering decisionsPartner with infrastructure and application teams to remediate systemic weaknesses through engineering improvementsIdentity & Access ManagementEngineer and maintain identity and access management (IAM) solutions, including MFA, conditional access, and privileged access controlsAutomate identity lifecycle processes such as provisioning, de‑provisioning, and access reviewsEnforce least privilege and zero trust principles through technical controls and continuous validationTranslate security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements into technical controls and reference architectureSupport security risk assessments by identifying control gaps and engineering mitigation strategiesProvide technical evidence and control design support during audits and compliance activitiesPartner with IT, Infrastructure, and business teams to integrate security into day‑to‑day operations and platform roadmapsProvide technical guidance on secure implementation patterns and best practicesContribute to security awareness by enabling teams with secure defaults and guardrails rather than manual processesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)Seven (7) or more years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related technical roleRelevant certifications are an asset, such as:CISSPCCSPCySA+Cloud or vendor‑specific security certificationsTechnical KnowledgeStrong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals (confidentiality, integrity, availability)Strong hands‑on knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VLANs,



firewalls)Practical experience engineering and operating security technologies, such as:Firewalls and network security controlsEndpoint Detection and Response (EDR)SIEM and log analysisVulnerability scanning toolsSolid understanding of identity and access management (IAM) concepts, including MFA and privileged accessWorking knowledge of encryption and PKI (TLS/SSL, certificates)Hands‑on experience with cloud security (e.G., Azure, AWS, or GCP) is an assetUnderstanding of common threats and attack techniques (phishing, malware, ransomware, lateral movement)Security Frameworks & StandardsFamiliarity with one or more of the following:NIST Cybersecurity FrameworkISO/IEC 27001CIS Critical Security ControlsStrong understanding of risk management and defence‑in‑depth principlesAutomation & Problem‑Solving SkillsAbility to design scalable and repeatable security solutionsStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills and attention to detailAbility to assess risk and engineer pragmatic, sustainable mitigation strategiesAbility to document architecture, controls and technical decisions clearly and conciselyStrong verbal communication skills to explain technical risks and solutions to non‑technical stakeholdersAbility to collaborate effectively across security, IT, operations, and business teamsProficiency in Spanish and EnglishProficiency in Portuguese is a plusPreferred qualificationsStrong engineering mindset with a focus on building durable solutionsHigh sense of accountability, ethics, and ownershipCuriosity and continuous learning orientationAbility to perform effectively in high‑priority or incident situationsStrong interest in emerging threats, security architectures, and modern security engineering practicesEffective collaboration and teamwork skills.Annual Salary Range CAD 110,000.00 - 125,000.00Competitive benefits packageGroup RRSPProfessional development, training and certificationJob Type Full‑time, Permanent.We thank all applicants for showing an interest.
