Our client in the fintech space is seeking a fulltime/permanent Engineering Manager to lead and scale the Data & AI Engineering team.

Location: remote

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of data and AI engineers, fostering technical excellence, career growth, and a collaborative culture.


• Establish clear goals and success metrics, track execution, and partner with stakeholders to align on priorities and deliverables.


• Own the long-term technical vision for data architecture, scalable pipelines, AI/ML model deployment, and related frameworks.


• Balance new feature development with architectural quality and technical debt management to enable sustainable velocity.


• Guide the design and evolution of scalable, efficient data systems, model deployment workflows, and monitoring/observability practices.


• Partner closely with Product and Design leadership to deeply understand customer needs and drive aligned solutions.


• Work with Platform, Security, and broader Engineering teams to deliver robust, secure,
  
  
  
  and compliant solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering with at least 2+ years in direct people management and 3–5 years of experience on data/AI engineering teams.


• Experience with scalable, customer-facing data products and strong architectural understanding of data platforms and distributed systems.


• Familiarity with cloud services, data lakehouse technologies (e.g., Databricks/Spark), containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices.


• Knowledge of ML concepts and experience with modern AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, RAG frameworks).


• Strong communicator with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences and shape team culture.


• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a people-first leadership mindset.


• Prior success scaling data platforms or embedded AI features in production systems
